Yalda is an Iranian festival originally celebrated on the Northern Hemisphere's longest night of the year,
that is, on the eve of the Winter Solstice. This year, the Persian community at KTH has prepared a
very special ceremony to celebrate this festival on a cruise from Stockholm to Mariehamn on December 21.
There are a limited number of tickets available for this event which can be bought at Nymble on
Friday November 27 from 11:00 to 15:00. The tickets are 150 SEK for each person and include the cruise itself, the

PostHeaderIcon Nowruz 2009

Nowruz (meaning 'New Day') is the traditional Iranian new year holiday, the first day on the Iranian calendar,
as well as the first day of spring, which is cheerfully celebrated and observed by Iranians. This year on March
20 we celebrated this ancient tradition in KTH for the first time. The event was sponsored by KTH International
Office and Student Service (ISS).

PostHeaderIcon Mehregan

Mehregan is the autumn festival in Iranian culture, which was celebrated extravagantly since at least 3000 years ago. For several reasons it was of high significance. Today we basically celebrate it as a symbol of cherishing interpersonal relationships such as friendship, affection and love.
So we are going to have a Mehregan party at Nymble October 9. There is going to be some live music performance, a photo exhibition and some refreshments. It is free and it is open to everyone from all nationalities. So feel free to join especially if you want to enjoy Persian music and dance!

As KTH-ISS supports the event, unfortunately we can only host students for this ceremony based on the regulations.
*** Please also note that you need to bring your student identity card and a valid ID card with you to enter. ***
